Celebrates 20 Years in Business (San Antonio, TX) June 30, 2011 - On July 2, 1991, it was the little travel agency that could, a one-location operation in San Antonio launched with only $1000 by founders Jim and Arlene Davie and partner Christy Prescott. Now, 20 years later, Corporate Travel Planners (CTP) is moving full steam ahead, having grown into one of the largest privately owned full service travel management companies in the state and one of the top 50 in the U.S. The company’s tremendous success has come under the careful guidance of Prescott, who took 100% ownership of the business in 1993. CTP’s growth over the years- with sales annually of $115 million - has been driven by hard work and several strategic acquisitions including the purchase of Chaparral Travel in 1997, Champagne Travel and its eight retail locations in 1999, Rennert World Travel in 2000, and West Winds Travel in 2002.
